Gowri S. Ramaswamy had her initial training in Bharata Natyam in the well known institution, Kalakshetra. She continued her training in BharataKalanjanli under the world famous dancing duo, the Dhananjayans. Gowri received her “Natya Poorna” from Bharata Kalanjali after her arangetram in 1992. She is the recipient of the merit scholarship from CCRT, New Delhi in the field of Bharata Natyam.
Gowri has given many solo dance performances and has been an integral part of many Bharata Kalanjali productions. Gowri toured US and Canada in 1993 with the Dhananjayan troupe and participated in their well acclaimed productions of Sita Rama Katha and Sangamitra. In 1995 she also toured the Middle East with the Dhananjayans.
Gowri moved to the Dallas metroplex in 1995 and has since been performing and teaching in the area. Gowri and her students have participated in cultural events in and around the Metroplex sponsored by local corporations and fine arts organizations. Gowri has been recognized for her contribution to Bharata Natyam by the Metroplex Hindu Temple. She has had the opportunity to perform at Dallas Museum of Arts in Fall of 2002 for the unveiling ceremony of the Statue of Natraja for the Asian exhibits.
She has established her own dance institution “Sampradaya Performing Arts” in Allen, TX. Gowri focuses on guiding the budding talent to professional standards of excellence in this great ancient art. She strives to pass on the great lessons learnt under her gurus to the younger generation.
Srividya Raghu had her initial training in Bharatanatyam in Mumbai, India.
She has been with Sampradaya performing for over 7 years now and has been teaching for the last couple of years. She has been an integral part of the Sampradaya productions as well.
Srividya and her husband Raghu have been associated with Chinmaya mission Dallas for over 15 years and she has been a Balvihar teacher for many years now.
Vishruthi Ramaswamy is the daughter and disciple of Smt. Gowri Ramaswamy. She completed her arangetram in 2015 and has been an integral part in all of Sampradaya’s productions. She was the recipient of the ICHF scholarship for Bharatanatyam in 2015, and has had the privilege of learning under Gowri’s gurus, the Dhananjayans. She also has been fortunate to have learnt from Smt. Shobana Bhalchandra and continues honing her dance skills under Sri.Shijith Nambiar and guidance from her mother. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering along with a Business minor from Univeristy of Texas at Austin and is currently working as software engineer.
Gayathri Vijayaraghavan has been learning for over 8 years under Gowri Ramaswamy. She completed her Arangetram in July 2019 and has been a part of many performances and productions at Sampradaya. She has been helping teach classes for the last 5 years. Gayathri is currently pursuing Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Management and Biology at The University of Texas at Dallas.
Vyshnavi Maringanti has been under the tutelage of Gowri Ramaswamy for over seven years now. She completed her arangetram in August 2017 and has participated in several productions and workshops. Vyshnavi has been helping in teaching the young students since her arangetram. Vyshnavi is currently a sophomore at The University of Texas at Dallas double majoring in Information Technology Systems and Healthcare Management.
Amulya Rayasam began learning Bharatanatyam at Sampradaya Performing in 2007 and completed her arangetram in August of 2018. She has participated in many of Sampradaya’s productions. She has been helping to teach the little ones for the past 3 years. Amulya currently attends the University of Texas at Dallas, pursuing a major in Data Science and a minor in Spanish.
Sumedha Tekkalur has been a student at Sampradaya Performing arts for the past 15 years. She completed her arangetram in August 2022, and now assists in teaching younger students at Sampradaya. She is a current sophomore at the University of Texas at Dallas double majoring in supply chain management and marketing.
